Site Explorer

With the rumor being that the Yahoo site explorer is going away, a company has come along to offer the same thing with some new features specifically aimed toward organic SEO gurus called http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/ The cost will be a hundred bucks a month and the extra services to start with will be Facebook likes, tweets, and google pluses. Other premium services will no doubt be added.

This translates to $ 1,188 per year multiplied out to count links, hopefully with less hassle than the yahoo program offers. The drawbacks with the free yahoo service are thus;

  1. Tab needs to be switched to inbound links
  2. links within web-site then needs to be switched off
  3. deep-links then needs to be turned on
  4. there is no setting to limit links to one per domain

So the market will open up for inbound link services, as with yahoo dropping out and google being lame for some time, organic seo specialists will use these new tools to look for competitive weaknesses and to formalize theories on heuristics.
